7 de mayo, fecha en que se celebra en Costa Rica el Día Nacional del Calipso, y el natalicio de Walter Gavitt Ferguson , sucede también el nuevo lanzamiento de ‘Los Excavators & el Combo Brujo’ con su nuevo sencillo titulado CAHUITA, un remix del clásico tema de la legendaria banda de afro funk limonense: Bocaracá.
Sucede como una colaboración entre Los Excavators, el compositor Mike Joseph y Bocaracá, esta mítica agrupación de los años 70s y creadores del tema original.
Este clásico tema fue originalmente grabado en un estudio de en San José, llamado AudioCentro. Es un documento invaluable e importante, considerado una ventana a lo que estaba sucediendo con la música en Limón, donde una revolución musical se cocinaba a principios de los años 70, y donde Bocaracá fue clave.
50 años después vuelve a surgir esta obra, en una versión HipHop producida por Los Excavators junto a Mike Joseph.
May 7, the date on which the National Calipso Day is celebrated in Costa Rica, and the birth of Walter Gavitt Ferguson, also happens the new release of 'Los Excavators & el Combo Brujo' with their new single titled CAHUITA, a remix of the classic song by the legendary afro funk band Bocaracá.
It happens as a collaboration between Los Excavators, the composer Mike Joseph and Bocaracá, this mythical group from Limón from the 70s and creators of the original theme.
This classic theme was originally recorded in a studio in San José, called AudioCentro. It is an invaluable and important document, considered a window into what was happening with music in Limón, where a musical revolution was brewing in the early 70s, and where Bocaracá was key.
50 years later this work reappears, in a HipHop version produced by Los Excavators together with Mike Joseph.
